Reiki

Reiki is the ‘Universal Energy’ that makes up everything we know — and everything we do not yet know — in Creation. It can be understood alongside the idea in quantum physics that describes reality as emerging from waves of infinite possibility.

As a philosophy, Reiki guides us back towards a state of peace. As a healing modality, it supports balance and wellbeing on physical, emotional, mental and spiritual levels. It knows all, it is all, and allows each person’s experience to unfold and reveal that, gently and at a pace that is right for them.

A Reiki healing session gives you the opportunity to simply relax and receive the energy. There is nothing you need to do or believe. Reiki flows according to your individual needs, supporting the changes and healing that are appropriate for you at that time.

Where energetic blocks are identified, we explore and work through them to understand what they are, why they occurred and the underlying issue that created them. By getting to the root of the issue and brigning it to your awareness it can be addressed and released, helping to restore balance and flow.

Reiki can be experienced either in person, or as Distant Reiki wherever you are in the world. Because Reiki is infinite energy and is everywhere, physical proximity is not required for the session, allowing us to work together regardless of location.

Learning Reiki

Learning Reiki is an in-person experience. During the two-day Reiki 1 course you receive four Reiki attunements, reconnecting you energetically to the source of Reiki and opening your ability to channel Reiki energy for yourself and for others.

The attunements received enable you to channel healing energy and begin a personal process of change, encouraging you to examine your beliefs, habits and attitudes as your awareness expands and your own relationship with energy evolves and deepens.

Once you have completed Reiki 1, you are able to practise Reiki for yourself and give Reiki healing sessions to others. Practice and experience are an essential part of your training. Before progressing to Reiki 2, we require a minimum of two months’ practice to allow your energy to shift, together with at least 10 Reiki healing sessions given to others. This allows time for your confidence, sensitivity and experience with the energy to develop and is a core part of our style of Usui Reiki.

Reiki training develops progressively. Each level builds upon the knowledge, personal and energetic changes and practical experience gained at the previous level. Progression is therefore based not simply on completing a course, but on having sufficient time to practise, integrate your experiences and develop your sensitivity and confidence with Reiki.

Reiki 1  →  Reiki 2  →  Reiki Master  →  Reiki Master-Teacher

Reiki 1 is the beginning of your practical Reiki training and is taught in person over two days. You receive four attunements and learn how to work with Reiki for yourself and others. The course combines theory, discussion and hands-on practice so that, on completion, you can begin giving Reiki healing sessions to other people as well as using Reiki for yourself. As with all new skills, the more you practice the more expansive your experience will become. Ongoing, we can provide some opportunities to practice and are always available to answer questions and discuss and encourage your experiences.

Reiki 2 expands both your experience of Reiki and the range of ways in which you can work with the energy. You receive four further attunements, which more than double the energy you channel, and are introduced to three Reiki symbols to further empower your life and healing sessions. New skills include the ability to offer Distant Reiki across any distance, to one or multiple targets. The training develops your ability to identify and work with energetic congestion at the physical, emotional, mental and spiritual levels, while continuing your own personal and spiritual development.

Reiki Master is the next stage of your development after Reiki 2 and requires a minimum of six months’ practice and at least 30 Reiki healing sessions given to others after completing Reiki 2.

As this is a significant step, your Teacher will also seek guidance from Reiki itself on whether you are ready to progress and become a professional Reiki practitioner capable of running your own paid healing sessions for clients.

Reiki Master-Teacher the next step after Reiki Master and is the teaching level of Reiki which our style has seperated from Reiki Master level based on decades of teaching experience. For us, Reiki Master-Teacher is undertaken only after substantial experience as a Reiki Master – a minimum of 100 professional treatments given over a year or more. This often triggers substantial changes in the lives and energies of the practising Master on all levels; physical, emotional, mental and spiritual.

At this level, the training moves beyond receiving Reiki into learning how to guide and develop other students. Practical training includes supervised professional healing work, creating your own version of the teaching materials and with that teaching a Reiki 1 student and learning to perform the Reiki attunements using a separate, confidential attunement manual. This course culminates in practical experience of supporting the wider Reiki community and, over time learning to teach the other levels of Reiki and the supplementary courses

Additional specialist courses are available to complement and expand your Reiki practice both as a studnet and then learning to teach them as a Teacher.

As a student, Crystal Healing requires Reiki 1 or above, while Pendulum Diagnosis requires Reiki 2 or above. Other specialist courses can be introduced according to your experience and the prerequisites for each course. All courses complement a deeper understanding of energy and support the development of your natural psychic abilities.

Where to begin

If you are new to Reiki, your training pathway begins with trying a Reiki session to see if you are interested in learning the modality and get on well with the Reiki Master-teacher. Choosing your teacher is an important decision and I am happy to recommend other teachers who I know for you to try before you decide. On deciding to progress and having chosen your teacher the first step is thr Reiki 1 course.

If you have already trained in Reiki elsewhere, you may be able to join our training at your existing level. Before doing so, we arrange a free practical assessment in which you give Reiki for a few minutes while your Reiki connection, quality and strength of flow are assessed. All Reiki Master-Teachers within our style of Usui Reiki are able to see or sense energies, so this assessment can be carried out privately with any of our teachers or at a Reiki Share.

Where everything is flowing appropriately, you can continue at the suitable level. If something needs attention, we will explain what we observe and discuss the options with you. With your permission, some energetic blocks may be addressed during the assessment; in other cases, further practice or additional attunements may be recommended before continuing.
