Expanding your Reiki practice

Reiki 2 builds on the foundation established at Reiki 1. For me, this was when the magic really started. It expands both your experience of Reiki and the range of ways in which you can work with the energy, moving beyond the primarily physical focus of Reiki 1 to include the emotional and mental levelsand service to others.

During this two-day, in-person course you receive four further Reiki attunements. These significantly increase the energy you are able to channel and support the next stage of your own energetic and spiritual development.

Before taking Reiki 2

Reiki training is progressive and the time between levels is part of the training. Before progressing to Reiki 2, you must have completed Reiki 1 at least two months previously and given at least 10 full in-person Reiki healing sessions to other people.

This period gives you time to practise, allows your energy to adjust, develop sensitivity to the flow of Reiki and gain genuine experience rather than simply moving from one course to the next.

The three Reiki symbols

At Reiki 2 you are introduced to three traditional Usui Reiki symbols. You learn how to draw, activate and work with them, and how they can be incorporated into hands-on and from now on, distant Reiki treatments and in normal day-to-day life.

The symbols broaden and empower the ways in which Reiki can be understood, directed and used and are empowered by the attunements.

Distant Reiki

One of the major developments at Reiki 2 is learning Distant Reiki. You learn how to offer Reiki without the recipient being physically present, both to one person and to multiple points of focus including groups of people and locations.

This opens a very different way of working with Reiki and gives you practical experience of how intention, sensitivity and energetic awareness can operate beyond physical proximity.

What you will develop

• Know and understand 3 of the traditional Usui Reiki Symbols and their uses.
• Learn the differences between a hands-on treatment and a distant treatment.
• Give a Distant Reiki treatment to one person.
• Give Distant Reiki to multiple people or locations.
• Become more sensitive to when Reiki energy is flowing and when it has stopped.
• Identify and work with energetic congestion at the physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual levels with understanding of the difference between them and how they interrelate.
• Continue developing your intuition, awareness and confidence through practice.

After Reiki 2

Reiki 2 can be a destination in itself; once attuned, you can continue practising and developing at this level for life. If you later feel drawn towards Reiki Master, the next stage requires considerably more experience.

After Reiki 2 your own personal and spiritual development will accelerate as Reiki acts as a catalyst bringing opportunities for Karmic release and experience driven development to your energetic skills and sensitivies. At all times you are supported through this development with a close community of people on a similar journey.

Before Reiki Master we require a minimum of six months’ practice after Reiki 2 and at least 30 hands-on Reiki healing sessions given to other people. Distant Reiki is valuable practice and helps develop your sensitivity and psychic abilities, but it does not count towards these 30 sessions, which are specifically hands-on Reiki healing sessions given to other people. Hands-on Reiki regularly brings you into contact with other people and their energies, and through that process your own issues can also be brought to your awareness, creating further opportunities for personal growth.

Your Teacher will also seek guidance from Reiki itself on whether you are ready for the next step.
