What is a Reiki Share?
A Reiki share is a public event where you can come and experience Reiki for the first time, or if you are a Reiki student, you can meet other students and practice your skills in a supportive environment.
Reiki shares usually run from 10am to 4pm (last entry 2pm) and are normally held in or near cafés, where drinks and snacks are available and there is plenty of room to chat with others.
Every Reiki share must have at least one Reiki Master-Teacher present, and often several Reiki Masters attend. This is an opportunity to talk with them, learn from their experiences and make an appointment for a private session if it is something you wish to explore further.
The number of people at each share varies. Depending on your arrival time, it may be necessary to join a queue managed by the share organiser. For a member of the public, your session should take about one hour. Reiki students often come for the whole day and may get the opportunity to do more than one session or join in a session another student is running to learn and share insights. During a share, several practitioners may work with one client, offering a new perspective on how Reiki works in a group setting.
Shares are usually ‘by donation’, although sometimes a minimal fee is charged. Any fee and the location of the Reiki Share will be stated in the advertisement. No booking is required unless specifically stated, so just turn up and try Reiki.
