The Master Level

Reiki Master is the next stage of your development after Reiki 2. It is not simply another course or another symbol; it marks the point at which your Reiki practice moves towards professional practitioner level and asks for a deeper commitment to your own development as well as to the clients you help.

At this level the work extends further across the physical, emotional, mental and spiritual aspects of healing. The course also introduces the fourth, or Master, symbol used in our Western Usui Reiki practice.

Before becoming a Reiki Master

Reiki Master requires a minimum of six months’ practice after Reiki 2 and at least 30 full hands-on Reiki healing sessions given to other people during that period, with students often doing sessions on friends, family and on other Reiki students at Reiki exchanges and at organised Reiki Shares.

As this is a significant step, your Teacher will also seek guidance from Reiki itself on whether you are ready to progress and become a professional Reiki practitioner, capable of running your own paid healing sessions for clients.

Your Reiki Master attunements

During the two-day course you receive four further attunements. These are personalised to you by guidance received by your teacher and increase the energy you are able to channel and support the deeper energetic changes associated with Master level. These are the final attunements you will receive within the Reiki training pathway.

By this stage you already have substantial practical experience. The emphasis therefore shifts from simply learning techniques towards applying Reiki with greater awareness, responsibility and confidence. This is an expansive process taking you to a new level that continues in your life and in your practices.

New areas of healing

The Reiki Master training expands the range of situations you learn to work with. The manual and practical training includes advanced healing approaches and a stronger holistic view of the person and their energy.

• Past life treatments
• Introduction to other energies and their meaning
• Entities within the aura and the etheric aura
• Master symbol energy and the meaning
• Differences between the physical, emotional, mental and spiritual bodies from the perception of life challenges
• Practical experience with supervision

Becoming a professional practitioner

Reiki Master is the level at which you have enough experience and are channelling enough energy to begin charging for Reiki treatments if you choose to do so. The course therefore includes guidance on setting up a professional Reiki practice and a code of conduct for professional practitioners.

Being a Reiki Master does not mean being perfect. In our approach, ‘Master’ is as much about continuing to master your own thoughts, words, emotions and actions as it is about helping other people. The development continues long after the course itself at a pace that is right for you, with the support of others in the community you have helped to create.

From Master level onwards, your awareness of energy, cause and effect (Karma), and the impact of present- and past-life choices can facilitate greater understanding and the rising of your vibration towards that of Reiki itself—the energy of ‘peace’.

A return home.

Beyond Reiki Master

You can remain a Reiki Master and practise professionally without becoming a teacher. Reiki Master-Teacher is a separate later stage for those who are genuinely drawn to teaching, attuning others and continuing their own spiritual development.

Before Reiki Master-Teacher, our Reiki training pathway requires at least one year of practice as a Reiki Master and a minimum of 100 professional Reiki treatments. Progression is based on experience and readiness, not simply elapsed time and your readiness is verified by your teacher with Reiki guidance, a process the Master will now be very familiar with.
