Beginning your relationship with Reiki
Reiki 1 is “Reiki for you” — the beginning of your practical Reiki training and the foundation for your own healing and development. The course is taught in person over two days and combines theory, discussion and hands-on practice so that, on completion, you can begin using Reiki for yourself and giving Reiki healing sessions to friends, family and others.
Your Reiki 1 attunements
During the two-day course you receive four Reiki attunements from myself, a qualified Reiki Master-Teacher. These reconnect you energetically to the source of Reiki and the source of you, make instant adjustments to your light body and energy channels, and open your ability to channel Reiki healing energy. The attunements make the connection; there is nothing you need to believe or consciously make happen.
The attunements also begin a personal process of change. As your awareness and sensitivity to energy develop, Reiki can encourage you to examine your beliefs, habits and attitudes and deepen your relationship with yourself, other people and the energy around you.
What will Reiki 1 give you
Reiki 1 places the emphasis first on you. The aim is to establish a firm foundation: learning to work with Reiki, practising self-treatment, becoming sensitive to the flow of energy and gaining experience by giving Reiki to others. Every session becomes part of your learning.
Some of the benefits of practising Reiki
The Reiki 1 manual you are provided with as part of the training describes a wide range of possible benefits. Individual experiences vary, but commonly described benefits include:
- Deep relaxation and a greater sense of peace and wellbeing
- Reduced stress and anxiety
- Better and deeper sleep
- Greater vitality and freshness
- More balanced energy and release of emotional blockages
- Greater clarity of thought and a more positive outlook
- Improved self-belief and inner confidence
- Increased intuitive awareness and sensitivity to energy
- Support for personal growth and development
- The ability to share Reiki with other people and animals.
Practice after the course
Once you have been attuned to Reiki, the connection is for life. After Reiki 1 you can continue with self-treatments and practise Reiki with others. Practice and experience are an essential part of our training, rather than something to rush through on the way to the next level.
Before progressing to Reiki 2, we require a minimum of two months to allow your physical energy time to adjust and balance, together with at least 10 Reiki healing sessions given to other people. This gives you time to develop confidence, sensitivity and practical experience with the energy.
The beginning of your Reiki training pathway
You can remain at Reiki 1 and continue to receive its benefits for life. These will come from continued practice. If you later feel drawn to continue, Reiki 2 builds on the energetic changes, knowledge and practical experience developed at Reiki 1. Progression is based not simply on completing a course, but on giving yourself sufficient time to practise, integrate your experiences and develop with Reiki. Reiki becomes a gentle catalyst to your physical and spiritual evolution, and I, and the other like-minded Souls you’ll meet through Reiki are here to assist and guide you on that journey.
“I would highly recommend this Reiki course with Paul to anyone who feels called to explore energy healing or deepen their personal practice. Also he has a natural ability to explain Reiki in a way that is clear, grounded, and easy to understand—whether you’re completely new or already familiar with energy work. You can tell he genuinely cares about each student’s journey, taking the time to answer questions, share insights, and create space for personal growth. Feeling grateful.”
