A Reiki lineage is the documented chain of attunements linking a Reiki practitioner or teacher through successive teachers back to Master Mikao Usui. My Reiki lineage comes through Nicholas Harris of Practical Healing in Chiang Mai although the majority of my Reiki training was completed with Mohana Kanah of Egyptian Reiki.
A documented lineage can be important for professional membership and liability insurance, depending on the country, professional body and insurer. My lineage is recognised by the UK Reiki Federation and is passed on to every Reiki Master or Reiki Master-Teacher I teach.
